UK General Election 2010

With an aging population and reduced birth rate we are set to have serious problems paying to keep our old people safe and well!

It’s not a question of if we need to raise the age of the UK’s mandatory retirement age, but when and by how much we raise it?

Or maybe a better question is should we even have a mandatory retirement age at all? Isn’t this age discrimination?

Currently the UK mandatory retirement age is set at 60 years of age for women and 65 years of age for men.

We also have sex discrimination as well, both men and women should be treated equally!

Prime Minister and Labour Leader Gordon Brown, Conservative leader David Cameron and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg will participate in the first ever UK General Election Live TV Leaders Debates: three debates are planned in the final days of the 2010 general election.

Labour’s Leader, Gordon Brown, said:

It is right that we set the issues before the British people. Others can work out the details but what’s important for the country is that there is a wide ranging series of television and radio debates with party leaders that are also able to devote attention to the central issues that matter to families: the economy, public services, how we strengthen our communities, and how we work with the rest of the world.

The Queen’s Speech is read by the Queen from the Throne in the House of Lords during the State Opening of Parliament.

The Queen’s Speech is written by the government (2009 is the Labour Party) and outlines government policies and proposed legislation for the new parliamentary session.

My Lords and members of the House of Commons.

My Government’s overriding priority is to ensure sustained growth to deliver a fair and prosperous economy for families and businesses, as the British economy recovers from the global economic downturn. Through active employment and training programmes, restructuring the financial sector, strengthening the national infrastructure and providing responsible investment, my Government will foster growth and employment.

Political groups in the UK (through out Europe) are concerned at what they see as the spread of the Islam/Muslim faith, the so called Islamification of Britain/Europe/America et al. The concern is the Islam/Muslim faith will replace the current main faiths (Christian, Catholic etc…) and way of life and even laws in those countries.

I’m looking for some suggestions of options to add so we have a range of opinions. Something along the lines of:

Yes, we should remove ALL Muslims from Britain.

Yes, we should stop Muslim Immigration into Britain.

According to the Conservative Party conference the Conservative Party will try to achieve the following if they gain power at the 2010 general election:

George Osborne has announced that, as part of our plan to Get Britain Working, we will abolish tax on the jobs created by new businesses in the first two years of a Conservative Government.

The Shadow Chancellor said that any new business started in the first two years of a Conservative Government will pay no Employer National Insurance on the first ten employees it hires during its first year.

The tax break will encourage new entrepreneurs and is predicted to generate around 60,000 additional jobs over two years. Clear and simple rules will ensure that the jobs created are genuinely new.
