The United Kingdom Independence Party (which also uses the expansion UK Independence Party, commonly known as UKIP, pronounced /?ju?k?p/ roughly yoo-kip) is a conservative, eurosceptic political party. Its principal aim is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.
UKIP currently holds thirteen seats in the European Parliament and two in the House of Lords (the latter due to the defection of Conservative peers). It also has around 100 local councilors on principal authorities, town and parish councils. It claimed a membership of 14,630 on 31 December 2008.
In the 2009 European elections, UKIP came second in the UK, beating the governing Labour Party but although the share of the vote increased by 0.4%, to 16.5%, the number of people voting UKIP dropped from 2,650,768 in 2004 to 2,498,226 in 2009, to give it a total of thirteen seats in the European Parliament.
UKIP’s current leader is Malcolm Pearson, Baron Pearson of Rannoch, who was elected as leader on the 27th November 2009, who succeeded Nigel Farage to become the party’s seventh leader.

A good reason for not voting ukip is the fact that they have proved to be just a safety valve for lib/lab/con voters who are totally fed up with the lies & corruption of the big 3 !
This is proved by the way Lord Pearson tried to do a deal with Cameron by offering to dissolve it should Cameron call a referendum on the EU treaty!
Any vote for ukip is a wasted vote which will help keep the corrupt self serving liars in power longer!
VOTE BNP, THE ONLY PARTY WHO REPRESENT THE HOPES AND ASPIRATIONS OF THE BRITISH!!

Another British National Party conspiracy Theory :-)
A fact they are a “safety valve” for the Labour/Conservative/Liberal Democrat coalition hey.
So BNP supporters believe there is a conspiracy between:
The Labour Party
The Conservative Party
The Liberal Democrat Party
The United Kingdom Independence Party
And from other comments
The Green Party (a Labour Party front).
Have I missed any political parties that are part of the big Labour/Conservative/Liberal Democrat/UKIP/Green Party coalition conspiracy group?
I suppose as you are a BNP supporter their main aim is to keep the British National Party out of power through their nefarious New World Order deeds?
I have to say the above parties do a damn good job of putting up a front that they hate each other, awesome acting.
I’m curious, if they are all in it together why would they all field candidates in areas where the BNP are a threat, wouldn’t it make sense for several to drop out so one of them would have a better chance against the oh so powerful BNP?
It’s basic maths, if there’s 20,000 votes available and the five parties in the coalition conspiracy group received as a group 15,000 votes and the BNP 5,000, if the BNP have one more vote than the highest vote of the other five the BNP win. So why split their votes between five parties?
You have no serious evidence they are part of a coalition conspiracy group to keep the BNP out of power.
The BNP supporters who believe this sort of tosh sound like nutters, it’s no wonder we have zero BNP MPs.
Does Nick Griffin believe rubbish like this?

David, you say …
“You have no serious evidence they are part of a coalition conspiracy group to keep the BNP out of power.”
You trying to tell people you’ve never heard of the UAF???
Anyway, the ‘conspiracy’ is one of tacit agreement between all parties, including yourself, that the BNP, and the million or so genuinely British people who support them, are not welcome.
So much for democracy! If we suport the BNP our opinion counts for nothing. Is that it???
Hypocrites! Claiming to bring democracy to places like Iraq and Afghanistan, whilst at the same time behaving in a most undemocratic manner here at home in the UK by setting up the UAF.
And David, there is a conspiracy, and it is called the UAF, founded and run by, … you tell me……
We want our country back,
Vote BNP.

“David, you say …

Of course I’ve heard of the UAF I wrote an article about them on this site http://www.general-election-2010.co.uk/unite-against-fascism-uaf.html
I agree with their aims, but disagree with their methods. Throwing eggs at elected MEPs for example is wrong and those responsible should have been prosecuted (it’s an assault).
Just to get your thought process on this one.
Because members of the main political parties support the UAF they are all part of some big political conspiracy against the BNP?
If that’s true they aren’t hiding their involvement very well, they have a supporters list on the UAF website. Last time I checked (and I own a conspiracy theories website http://www.conspiracy-theories-hoax.com/) conspirators don’t normally publish their involvements in conspiracies!
Seriously, is that the best evidence you have for the main parties being in league together?
Like I said I support the aims of the UAF (Unite Against Fascism) and if you are a true Brit you’d support their aims as well (I assume you don’t want a fascist British government?). Does supporting the aims of the UAF whilst disagreeing with their tactics make me part of the big conspiracy?
You’ll note I rarely comment on my conspiracy theory website, (it’s well commented) that’s because 99% of conspiracy theories are complete rubbish.
BTW I was referring more to the main political parties colluding together to keep the three of them in power, the BNP’s argument is they are all one party and so it doesn’t matter which of the three, strike that, which of the 6 as the BNP include Greens, UKIP and the Welsh party in the conspiracy win a parliamentary seat as they are one group with one agenda.
Seriously, do you believe in this sort of rubbish Rosie.G???

Reasons to Vote United Kingdom Independence Party: UKIP 2010 General Election
I have received the following copy of a Newswire release, which may be of interest to both CONServative and EUKIP supporters – make of it what you will (I do not have a link to the copy yet, but will provide it as soon as I can – unless someone comes up with one sooner):
“A highly ranked source on UKIP’s NEC (UKIP’s governing body) has confirmed the existence of a deal between the Conservative leadership and Nigel Farage, ex-leader of UKIP and currently the UKIP leader in the European Parliament.
Apparently Farage is being secretly backed by the Tory leadership, as a proxy, to oust John Bercow, Speaker of the House.
John Bercow is very unpopular with the Conservative
Parliamentary Party for his expressed sympathies for
‘New Labour’. His election to the office of Speaker was only possible because of overwhelming support from the Parliamentary Labour Party, calculated to embarrass the Conservative front bench.
John Bercow’s wife has also confirmed her ambition to represent Labour in the Commons, which has caused further irritation amongst Conservative MPs.
According to the UKIP NEC member: “If the wheeler-dealer Farage is elected, Bercow will lose his seat. Farage will then resign shortly afterwards, creating a by-election which the Conservatives will win, thereby adding to their number in what may be an extremely thin Conservative majority or possibly a hung Parliament.”
Under new rules, MPs are not permitted to serve in the European Parliament. Farage would be loath to resign his European Parliamentary seat and the generous salary, perks and allowances he receives, and not least his co-leadership of one of the
groupings within the Parliament. He will therefore resign his Westminster seat, repeating a claim he has often stated that real power lies in the EU anyway.
The existence of such a deal is likely to cause disagreement within UKIP. Already, UKIP’s new leader, Lord Pearson, has faced considerable opposition from rank-and-file membership. This
follows the revelation of a deal where Pearson proposed to stand UKIP down in the general election in return for a promise by the Conservatives to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. The
Conservatives dismissed the approach, which will have been made with Farage’s knowledge.
This time, however, the Conservative leadership is particularly keen to see the back of John Bercow.
According to sources in the local Conservative Constituency Association in Buckingham, “Something untoward is going on behind the scenes but if it is true Farage is involved, we must appreciate that he is heavily tainted in his own expenses’ controversy involving £2m. He is not someone we would want to
represent Buckingham, deal or no deal.”
Our source speculates that if Farage is elected in Buckingham and then duly resigns, he will receive a Peerage a year or two later. Under the new rules, Peers are permitted to sit in the European Parliament.”

Ok get some real evidence (links to actual articles) not speculation and rubbish emails.
Try this article for size: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/6729586/Tory-voters-alienated-by-John-Bercow-preparing-to-back-Ukip.html
Which says as per normal course the speakers seat won’t be opposed by the LibDems or Labour as of course Bercow is an elected Tory MP.
Farage is the only other party so far to declare he will stand against Bercow, but suprise suprise there is no mention of some dodgy deal, try harder

Oh and another point if you speculative email (whatever source it came from is corretc) Farage still wouldn’t be able to keep his EU seat, if he becomes a Lord (very doubtful that would ever happen) he isn’t allowed to be an MEP, so bit of another fail there then.

If the Conservatives don’t want Bercow elected again they would simple make sure the local party de-selected him as a candidate (which they can do) so there wouldn’t be a need for this type of conspiracy really.

The problem with UAF is that there are TWO types of Fascism…There is Fascism of the Right and Fascism of the left…ergo…
…What UNITES the main parties and separates UKIP from them is the European Union, which is Fascist in its conception.
Even Gorbachev could not understand why – after seeing the collaps of the Soviet Union – the countries of Europe would want to erect its copy!!!
To try to Unite 27 disparate nations under one unaccountable ruling commission requires more than just a need to feel safe from attack – especially if the attack is coming from inside the group – it also requires FORCE!
History has proven time after time that a union of nations will eventully see cracks opening up between the nations, with differences of Religion, Culture, Race, Language – in fact everything that makes up a Nation’s identity – clashing with each other.
When that occurs the only resort for the ruling commission is to use force to try to subdue the fractious partners…It could even see troops who, being recruited and paid by the commission firing on their own (previously) national peoples!
At this present time we are seeing this happening in the Middle East and Asia.
Do we really want this in Europe?
As British army veteren I want to vote for a party that will take my country out of any such Union…
That is why I am a member of UKIP and will vote for them in the coming General Election.
