A great day for justice. We ought to have the police keep an eye on all such racist nazi minded people and indeed arrest them pre-emptively before their views result in violence, murder and division in our country. Mr Hollobone is indeed speaking for many people, including, I am certain, many of the women imprisoned inside their restrictive garments.
I find it vaguely sickening when I see muslim men walking around in t-shirts and shorts enjoying the freedom that western dress allows while forcing the womenfolk accompanying them to cover up completely.
It is not healthy physically or psychologically and much of it can be attributed to a culture that is completely male dominated and fully intends to remain so.
How many MP’s would permit anyone, male or female to attend one of their surgeries wearing a balaclava with only the eyes visible ? My contention is that the police would be called to remove anyone who refused to take this off first.
The principle is the same.
“Geezer” resorts to the usual terminology “racist” and “nazi” and blithely lumps PH in with those who murder or resort to violence. I know scores of people who find the full veil unacceptable for a number of reasons but not one of them could be counted as violent, nor racist. His remarks only serve to advertise his own blinkered bigotry.
Dare I add that one of the reasons this country is sliding into decay at an increasingly rapid rate is directly due to it’s tolerance of much that is unacceptable to people of all creeds, colour and faith, largely driven by the secular liberals of which “geezer” appears to be one.

People like you (the “Native English” as you put it) are assuming if a woman living in Britain is Muslim and wears a Burqa/Burqua/Burka/Hijab she isn’t English/British.
You might be one of the extreme “Native English” (members of the National Front, BNP, EDL) that have decided if a person isn’t of “indigenous English stock” they have no right to be here.
If you are an extremist I have no interest in your views, however if like me you believe if a person was born in England/Britain or has lived here the vast majority of their life (from a young child) they are as British/English as I am (I’m English born as are at least several generations of my family).
There are British born Muslim women who choose (yes choose, not forced) to wear an Hijab for religious reasons, just like British born Cristian woman choose to wear a crucifix around their neck.
You can disagree with the concept of a Muslim face covering, since there’s a significant number of woman around the world who wear a Burka that are forced by their husbands and male members of their family to maintain a face covering.
However you can not in a tolerant society like ours ban an item of clothing that causes no harm to that society, it has not been shown to be a serious security risk: I’ve not seen a string of bank robberies or terrorist acts performed by veil wearing woman!
If there’s a good reason for banning something like genital mutilation which occurs in some countries around the world then absolutely ban it, but a Burka does not fall into that category.
You can not ban a veil because you don’t like it!

There was a woman, well I think it was a woman in a Burka working on a cash counter behind a screen, when in walked a Motorcycle despatch rider wearing a full face helmet. He was ordered to take it off! He said why should I take it off???? To this the Manager of the bank said it’s for security reasons! The biker said if she, he takes off their Burka then I will remove my helmet. The manager replied it’s her religion!!! The Biker replied it’s my fckin religion too, I am a Hells Angel!!! The Manager was lost for words!!! The bank went silent for a couple of minutes and the people in the bank said to the Biker good for you!!!! We need to stand up to what is going on around us!!!! This was a true story!

Please let me clarify things from an English Perspective. “that’s English any colour”
Your country is like your house/home only bigger,
Your inheritance is the social system, nhs, and prosperity that family/father/grandfather has left you.
You don’t want to give your neighbour all your house keeping, the food out of your shelves, or your hard earnt goodies that daddy worked so hard and died for!
Neither do you want your brother/family member or mates to sit next to you in a balaclava, this forms distrust and is just strange not normal in the uk.
You trust your fellow house mates and family members to watch your back you would watch theirs!
If they were a toe-rag and not part of your house structure! you did not trust them you would kick them out on the street….
Especially if they had another home to go to overseas.

I phoned and have written to, the passport office to ask,
If a muslim gets her passport approved as a uk citizen wearing the burka/balaclava,
what safety measures and what precautions are they taking to make sure that that passport is not being mailed off to any female with brown eyes and only 2 of them
(ruling the mars people out they have 3! but not much else).
Then entering the uk on that passport “as they are not allowed to ask them to lift the veil and if they did there would be no record of what they are to look like under it.
If we are that pathetic as to allow a passport photo to be a pair of brown eyes and a black hooded garment. We deserve the fate that is coming to us.
I only prey you spare my daughter’s perhaps they could join your hareem.

Well this is a fact. Muslim women wear the full Burka while they are driving on our roads! How can this be legal??? How can she or he even see for one thing??? How do the Police know if she or he has a driving ban never mind if they are insured or even have a valid UK driving licence?? Had they organised a march the only people to attend would have been the BNP and EDL.
All because idiots like Anjem Choudary are on SKY News on a slow news day, does not mean they have large scale support. There’s only around 3% of our population that are Muslim and most of them are moderate. Since Caleb’s my 13 year old son who I recently gave this website to (he’s more interested in politics than I am!) I’m reasonably confident he’s never been to Iraq (certainly not born there, as he was born in East Sussex) and isn’t Muslim (not that that would be an issue for me).
He’s one of the majority of the tolerant British born people who make this country such a great place to live.
I disagree with anyone being forced to wear anything for religious reasons, but if a society bans something like the Burka when there are women who CHOOSE to wear it, it makes that society no better than those who force women into wearing such an item.
Please explain how forcing a woman not to wear a Burka is better/different than forcing a woman to wear a Burka?
