As the nation takes a break and celebrates the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this long weekend, UKIP Leader Nigel Farage made the following statement:

“Many congratulations to Her Majesty for her Diamond Jubilee and I hope everyone in the UK and throughout the Commonwealth has a wonderful and politics-free weekend.

“The Queen is a great symbol of our country who came to the throne at an age of upheaval yet throughout her reign has been a solid and dependable figurehead.

“The Monarchy is also infinitely better than an elected politician as President.”
